Gloria Cove was designed to provide uncompromised living in a rural atmosphere. The seventeen hectares of the estate have been divided into 24 plots, each 500m² with a maximum floor area of 250m² which gives each plot an effective area of two acres and unencumbered views of the adjacent Theewaterskloof dam and surrounding mountains. The development is surrounded on two sides by farmland, with 1km of water frontage on the third side and the similarly conceived development of Gloria Bay on the fourth side. It is 4km from the nearest tarred road, and the nearest town is Villiersdorp, 12 km away. The development falls under Resort Zone two legislation, which allows a large amount of self-government, including management of all aspects of the day to day running of the estate and its entire infrastructure. The development is governed by its own elected committee under the eagis of the Home Owners Association. Please see “Our constitution” for more on the constitution governing the duties of this committee.
The full architectural guidlines for Gloriacove are available on request. Please email info@gloriacove.co.za. Please note that they are subject to change and must be read together with the Homeowner Association’s Constitution and Rules. Gloria Cove Resort is being developed with a unique cohesive architectural character as an appropriate response to its sensitive environment and location, Cape Vernacular architecture, depicting simplified Cape Dutch or Victorian architectural elements, forms the basis of the style determined by the developer. These Architectural Guidelines should be seen as an instrument to maintain an overall design sensitivity, whilst allowing flexibility for individual expression. Uniform in style but diverse in design.
